Sr. Process Development Technician, Atia Vision


Atia Vision is an early stage Shifamed Portfolio Company focused on the development of novel accommodating intraocular lens to address the unmet clinical needs the fastest growing segment of the ophthalmology market.  We are currently looking for a hands-on Process Development Engineer who is innovative in their creative thinking, proactive in their approach to problem solving, and a collaborative team player.  This position represents an exciting opportunity to join the Atia Vision team as we advance the product platform.

The Senior Process Development Technician will be a key member of the development team and needs to be experienced with assembly of complex polymeric components and a creative and collaborative team player that can work with direction and independently.


Including, but not limited to:

  • Create prototypes and fabricate devices to support product and process development.
  • Document prototypes and devices made for testing
  • Assist with developing manufacturing processes and fixtures
  • Conduct tests to support product development
  • Train other team members on product assembly and testing


  • High school diploma, technical courses or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years’ work experience as a technician, in the medical device industry preferred
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in a lab and CER
  • Experience with polymer bonding techniques, hydrophillic/hydrophobic polymers a plus
  • Experience with injection molding and/or tool and die experience
  • Machine shop experience, CNC preferred, not required
  • Working knowledge of medical device regulations related to product design and performance
  • Understanding of technical drawings, specifications and assembly drawings
  • Ability to train others
  • Effective communication skills; ability to work both independently or in project team setting.
